This training video highlights connecting the new Refreshabraille 18 Display using both Bluetooth and USB connections. Although it demonstrates connecting to the APH BraillePlus Mobile Manager, the Refreshabraille 18 will connect to a number of devices, including specific cell phones and computers!

BrailleTap: Text-Entry Method for Blind Users

BrailleTap is a mobile device text-entry method for blind users. It takes advantage of the user’s knowledge and higly developed senses to easily enable text input. It does not required any extra hardware, just a shift in the associations between keys and letters.

A letter in Braille is “codified” as a set of dots in a matrix. The users are therefore able to select the dots and select the desired letters.
