She was the one that he never chose to love.

And they let their shoulders rub, when she showed her only one
But the silence was something she could never overcome.
Opal was mute,
They would communicate from sunup to sundown

Drawing letters on his back just to see if he could guess it.
But he was always wrong, yeah, youd think hed learned his lesson
When she wrote that she was leaving, but it didnt make a difference.
Cause the note that he was reading wasnt any of his business
Her glossary was probably
complicated, it ought to be.
They were music prodigies
the songs were amazing.
He knows she lost the lottery
and never saw him naked.
Now shes taunting him we could say
from different states and places
But hes drawing constellations
so she can make it back with a map and one day
promise him she’ll make it.
Is he honestly mistaken?
Is it locked or is it vacant?
Appalled and impatient.
He stopped on the pavement
watched from the gate and
knocked with persuasion
but he was too late.
Her belongings were taken.

He became a mute, thinking its the same as you.
Never tell a lie, but keeping secrets just for the sake of truth.
He would wait a day or two, for a sign that they were through.
And that note that he was reading felt engraved on his tomb.
Cause inside he died, and along with his language.
But in time his pride kept him from speaking to strangers.
He was waiting for a reason to say something important
While the seasons would change, but nothing in four months
Not a telephone call or a letter in the mail
But he began to wonder if he would go blind from reading Braille.
Cause she was really gone and his senses deceived him.
Unless theres a reason for why she was leaving.
He wrote on the walls of what it could possibly be
Writing math problems, novellas, and squared
