first my girlfriend pointed out a mole on the back of my neck, she said it looked funny. its always been there but according to her it looked like i got stabbed with a pencil nd the lead got stuck in my skin. i wasnt able to look at it (its on a blind spot of my body) but i noticed another mole on my chest that i’ve also had for as long as i can remember, but it looked just like she decribed, like lead broke off in my skin. it also feels bumpy. like if you ran your finger over brail writing (the blind ppl writing) so i asked my mom about it she just was like yeah it looks weird. and just a few seconds ago before i started to type the question i looked at that moleon my chest nd noticed another on the opposite side that was never there. then i started looking all over my visible body and found 4 other moles that i never had before. none of them look like lead stabbings, but they were never there. it scares me because my mom had skin cancer (had it removed) my cousin just recently got diagnosed with skin cancer (had it removed) and my grandpa died of cancer ( lung cancer from smoking though, stll not sure if that increases my odds or not) so basically im genetically predisposed to cancer. its a scary thought. also, what could cause it? i am mostly indoors and i always wear a t-shirt when im out side (most of the moles are coming up in places that are usually under the shirt) except for a few times i would go to the beach or something. but havent been to the beach since last september and this is a new thing for me, noticed the 1st mole on the last week of january.

I really don’t remember much about it, so it ‘ll probably prove tricky. What I can remember about it (I think!) is that is was centered around a pair of grandchildren, one boy and one girl, and their grandfather. Together, they went back in time to visit various important people. I believe one of them was Louis Braille, but I could be wrong.

I’ve recently begun to learn braille because I find it really interesting. I’ve learned grade 1 braille (the letters, numbers, and punctuation), but some sites I’ve researched say that grade 1 is not what is utilized in the real world. So what braille is on the signs in public places and such? Also, what kind of braille is published in books? Is it a combination? Thank you!

If you are a beginner you start with grade one but you can easily get to two.Fluent braille is grade three

Blind people can’t drive and why would they walk up to one any ways?

Because the keypad is a standard design. When the part is installed on the machine, it is not determined whether or not it will be a drive up or walk in ATM, therefore all the keypads are braille.

Hi i have old braille display Baum dm 80 /system 90 witch has two ports one is db25 male and the other one i don’t know.I have window eyes 7.0 screen reader witch supports this braille display but it is asking me on witch port is my braille display connected (it has com port 1-50,USB port and LPT 1-3 port).I also have db25F to usb cable.When i connect my braille display to computer using this cable there is some message on braille (which i do not understand naturally) and it does not work properly.So i was wondering does some one know how to configure this to work right?

You are trying to run it through the parallel port. Which is the LPT port.

Hi, i just watched the Book of Eli and to the end of the movie it does a close up on his eyes and you know that he is blind, also his bible is in braile. My question is, how did he go about everything he did if he was blind?! Is this a mistake? Thanks

I think he got blind because of the big sun explosion or something they talk about in the movie, where they had to go underground for a year.

BQ:Is their any Brail program so that they can read and answer questions here? I’m guessing I won’t be receiving an answer from a true blind person

I had my husband upload a picture of the guide dog puppy we are raising, and I use that for my profile picture. I used to have a picture of my working guide dog, but I switched it.
As for the use of the computer, I have a program called "JAWS" from Freedom Scientific which reads the text which appears on the screen. With JAWS, I don’t even have to have a screen; one of my computers does not have a monitor and I use that one all the time at work to access the internet. I use Yahoo and have both a Facebook and Myspace profile to keep in contact with all my friends.

I am registered blind but can see to an extent. i would like to learn braille but i don’t know how to go about this.
I just ordered a card with the alphabet on it

you need 1) a friend 2) a blindfold. sit down with the friend and wear the blindfold. have them move your hands from letter to letter, until you have memorized all the letters, punctuation, and numbers, etc. then, go to the library, and get a braille children s book. practice from there. keep the blindfold on. once you have taken away your sight completely, the sensitivity in your fingers is highly elated. keep thew blindfold on until you are confident. good luck!!

My new friend is blind and he lost his sight fully 3 years ago, and is a mature adult. How long does it take to learn how to read braille? He was reading a book in Braille when I called him and said it’s still a bit new for him, so just wondering.

There are two issues. One is learning the Braille characters and the punctuation/ abbreviation system and this you can do if you are sighted or not. It can be learned rather quickly. BUT learning Braille by touch is very different. Some people simply can’t learn it as their fingertips have lost the sensitivity needed to distinguish the dots. I tried and I could not learn it by touch at all. Some people eventually can learn if they keep trying. Some people learn it fairly quickly. Ask your friend!

I work for a charity who work with people who are blind or who have a visual impairment and we make braille jewelery. Due to some problems with our current supplier we are needing to find a new supplier who can make silver plated or pewter rectangular tiles that have a letter on one side and it in braille on the other side. The tiles should have two holes running horizontally across them for putting onto wire or elastic. Can anyone do this or know of someone/place that can?

I went through 6 pages of listings and this is all I could find. I did not look for a particular country hoping that if one did not have the tile you were looking for they could give you one that could help.
