“Além da Luz” retrata a vida de quatro cegos que fazem parte da Associação dos Deficientes Visuais de Cocal do Sul (ADVICOSUL), numa pequena cidade de Santa Catarina. Goulart expõe a realidade de suas vidas obtendo relatos otimistas em relação à deficiência visual e que o caminho para uma vida normal é a educação e a informação. A importância de Braille nesse processo é fundamental e por isso Goulart foi até Paris para descobrir de perto a história do renomado homem que inventou um sistema de escrita simples e útil, que abriu as portas do conhecimento a todos aqueles que não enxergam.

BEYOND THE LIGHT Beyond the Light portrays the lives of four blind people who are members of the Association for the Visually Impaired of Cocal do Sul (ADVICOSUL), a small town in the state of Santa Catarina. Goulart exposes the reality of their lives through optimistic accounts regarding the visual impairment and that the path to a normal life is education and information. The importance of Louis Braille in this process is crucial and, therefore, Goulart went to Paris to learn the history of the renowned man who invented a simple and useful writing system, which opened the doors of knowledge to all those who can’t see.
