Want to get a meaningful tattoo but dont know what to use to symbolize it?

Im at a point in my life that I realized I need to make some big changes in my attitude or I’ll end up somewhere I dont want to be. Basically start doing the right thing not the easy thing, admit when im wrong, treat the people I love alot better..sort of just be a better all around person. I want to get a tattoo that means something like self improvement but dont know what to use…. I kind of like the idea of chinese symbols or brail or even arabic writing but dont know what word or phrase to use. Or if someone can think of something else to symbolize self improvement that would be great too!

personally I wouldn’t get a tatoo….they are very expensive, hard, and painful to remove. You don’t need body markings to show who you are. You will regret it trust me!! Instead of spending money on a tatoo you could buy a peice of jewlry that describes you. You don’t want to wear it forever!!!!

Something in cool cursive lettering on your lower back that says something simple but meaningful. Honestly, you can’t read arabic or chinese. No one can. you might regret that later. With the english cursive, have it say something like "attitude" , "Destiny"… just an idea. Good luck! Hope you find something you like =)

1. I strongly advise that you NOT use something in chinese, arabic, or braille, etc. unless it represents YOU. Why get something in Chinese if you yourself are not, or if you can’t even read it?
2. Don’t do a butterfly. People use those to symbolize growth and change all the time- too cliche.
3. You could do something like a tree with a few leaves…and as you progress through life and become a better person, add some leaves until your tree is full. It will symbolize your growth from a bare tree to a beatiful one in full bloom. =) And then you can get really creative and add birds, flowers, etc. to represent those people that are important to you.

I got the word "Hope" done in Arabic calligraphy, and I get a lot of compliments on it. I got it when I enlisted into the military.
I think that getting a tattoo in brail would be very unique. Who has that? It would be pretty, too. I bet.
Lol. I just did a thesaurus search for "improvement." You can do "amendment." LOL.

Go to the tattoo shop you want to have the work done at and look around. Talk to the artist, maybe he/she could draw something original for you. There are a lot of conji that may have the meaning you are looking for. Check out the internet also. If you do find something on the internet print it out and take it with you to the tattoo shop. ive been where your at friend, to this day i end up there now n then still, the point is now youve relized you need change as far as your tattoo goes it can realy be anything, the tattoo itself will remind you of this point in your life, the design doesnt realy have to reflect self improvement .Whatever you decide to get when you look at it you will remeber what was goin on in your life wen you got it, myself..i got an hourglass around the time i figured out that if i didnt change i would have much time left at all, hope i didnt confuse you but the short of what im sayin is that you can figure this one out youve already figured out the most important part, good luck
