How many possible braille characters are there?

January 26, 2010 - 3:29 pm 1 Comment

Each character consists of a cell containing 6 positions that can have a raised dot or not have one. How many different Braille characters are possible?

if possible, use the permutation function.

Each position may be raised or not, so the number of possibilities is 2^6

what does this mean or how can I mission this(pokemon sapphire)?

"6 dots opens 3 doors"
While I was carried away by the current, left of pacifidlog, I found a diving spot there. I dived there and I found something their with some brail written pictures(i think)
what was that?
How can I mission that quest?
Or rather, is that even a quest?

Hi! That is a quest! Through that chamber, you will get the 3 legendary pokemon of the Sapphire/Ruby Version. Below are the steps on how to catch the 3 legendary pokemon. I got this information in http://www.legendarypokemon.net/rs/walk2 .You can even catch Rayquaza, the dragon-like pokemon which is the coolest pokemon in the Sapphire/Ruby Version in that website.

Sealed Chamber
Pacifilog Town

This is the Side Quest to catch the Legendary Pokémon Regirock, Regice and Reisteel. For this we need two Special Pokémon, a Relicanth and a Wailord. We also need a Pokémon that knows Dig. If you have them, withdrawl them from the PC. If not, we need to go catch them. To catch Relicanth, we need to go to Sootopolis City.
Sootopolis City

Skip this part if you already have a Relicanth. Get a Pokémon that knows Surf, a Pokémon that knows Dive and any other Pokémon you need to help catch Relicanth. Surf to the south end of Sootopolis City and Dive underwater. Exit out the door.
Route 126- Underwater

Surf around in the grassy area. Relicanth is pretty rare. After you find one, catch it. Next we need a Wailord. Go to the surface of the water and Fly to Ever Grande City1.
Ever Grande City1

Skip this part if you already have a Wailord. There are two ways to get a Wailord, evolve a Wailmer or catch one. You can find Wailmer by fishing with the Super Rod on most Routes. Wailmer evolves at Lv40. If you want to go catch one, you find them on Route 129. Surf down the waterfall and head left onto Route 128. Finally go down onto Route 129. Wailord is very rare. It can take a while before you find one. Now lets go back to Pacfidlog Town.
Pacfidlog Town

Make sure you have Relicanth and Wailord in your team. Also take out your Pokémon that knows Dig, a Pokémon that knows Surf and a Pokémon that knows Dive. You may also want a Pokémon that knows Fly. Surf left onto Route 132. You will see a lot of currented water. Hug the bottom wall as you go left until you reach Route 134. You will be standing on an area of shallow water. Walk to the bottom left corner. Walk two spaces up and Surf left. You will see an place to dive. Dive in.
Route 134- Underwater

Surf downwards through the hole in the wall. Follow the path all the way to the bottom. You will see some writing on the wall. Stand infront of it use Dive to return to the surface. You are now in the Sealed Chamber.
Sealed Chamber

Go to the very top of the room. You will see some writing on the wall. Stand infront of it and use Dig. A hole will appear in the wall. Go into it. Go to the top of the next room. You will see more writing on the top wall. Put Relicanth in Slot 1 of you team and put Wailord in the last slot. Press A on the writing on the wall. This will open the doors to the hideouts of Regirock, Regice and Registeel. Use Dig to leave the cave. Move down one space and use Dive. Lets start by hunting down Regirock. Fly to Lavaridge Town.
Lavaridge Town

You can deposit Relicanth and Wailord into the PC now. You won’t need them anymore. Take out a Pokémon that knows Strength and head right onto Route 112. Keep going right until you reach Route 111. Continue on into desert. Travel to the South end of the desert. You will see a cave opening. Enter it. You are now in the Desert Ruins.
Desert Ruins

Walk stright up until you are right infront of the writing on the wall. Walk two spaces right, then two spaces down. Have one of your Pokémon use Strength. A opening will appear in the top wall. Go through the door and you will see Regirock. It is a Lv40 Rock Pokémon. It has the attacks Curse, Superpower, Ancient Power and Rock Throw. Save your game in front of Regirock, remember you only have ONE chance to catch it. If you fail, reset your game and try again. Afterwards, leave the cave and fly to Dewford Town.
Dewford Town

Make sure you have a Pokémon with Surf and walk north, out of Dewford Town onto Route 106. Without Surfing walk as far top left as you can. Surf straight left, until you reach the wall. Then Surf straight up onto Route 105. Keep going until you see some trees. Walk onto that island. From that island head left all the way to the wall. Finally Surf straight up until you see a cave opening that looks just like Regirock’s cave. Enter it. You are now in the Island Cave.
Island Cave

Walk staight up and press A to read the writing on the wall. Press A again. Now all you have to do is wait. Do not push any buttons at all. After a minute or so, a door will automatically open in the wall. Go through the door and you will see Regice. It is a Lv40 Ice Pokémon. It has the attacks Curse, Superpower, Ancient Power and Icy Wind. Save your game in front of Regice, remember you only have ONE chance to catch it. If you fail, reset your game and try again. Only Registeel remains, leave the cave and Fly to Fortree City.
Fortree City

You must take a Pokémon that knows Fly with you. Leave town to the East. Continue down the Route until you get the bridge after the place which is raining. Go left across the bridge and head down. Go up the stairs on the left, then up through the patch of tall grass. You will see another cave that looks just like Regirock and Regice’s caves. You are now in the Ancient Tomb(W on the map)
Ancient Tomb

Walk straight up and stand in front of the writing on the wall. Then walk down four space. Have a Pokémon use Fly. A door will appear in the top wall. Go through the door and you will see Registeel. It is a Lv40 Steel Pokémon. It has the attacks Curse, Superpower, Ancient Power and Metal Claw. Save your game in front of Regsteel, remember you only have ONE chance to catch it. If you fail, reset your game and try again. Afterwards exit the cave and you’re done. You now have Regirock, Regice and Registeel in your possession.

Why is there brail on a muesum exibit plack? The blind can’t see the exibit.?

January 24, 2010 - 10:33 am 8 Comments

I was at my local muesum, and on the plack that discribed the exibit, there was brail. I don’t get that…o.0

Well, first of all, blind people have kids and need to answer the same questions sighted people get from their kids. Second, some museums have arrangements for the blind to touch (with gloves or cleaned hands) some of the exhibits that the public can’t touch and having gotten to the museum, the blind want to know what else is there without having to have a sighted guide talk to them about it, perhaps ignorantly. Knowing it is there, they can contact the museum for a trained individual to answer questions if they are interested.

why was Louis Braille famous and what was there disabilty?

Louise braille invented braille writing and books which are a series of elevated dot formations on a page a blind person runs there fingers along them for them , eventually it becomes like reading. This resulted in books for the blind that they could read on there own.

Why is there brail writing on the drive up ATM?

January 24, 2010 - 10:33 am 5 Comments

I have always been curious about this.

The manufacturer of the ATM buttons doesn’t know where the ATM is going to be put. It’s cheaper to make all of them with brail than to make some with and some without, then try to track where every ATM will be put and make sure they have the right buttons.

Also, blind people do use drive up ATMs, when other people drive them to the ATM.

How can I quickly and effectively learn Braille?

January 24, 2010 - 10:33 am 3 Comments

I want to learn to read Braille so well I can read an entire Braille book. Where can I learn to do this, where can I find the supplies to learn, what should I get to begin learning, and where can I find a Braille book? Do NOT tell me eBay. I checked.

Braille is composed of six cells (dots). To get books that are in both braille and print one of my favorite (and cheepest) sources is seedlings Braille books for chilldron. Their novels cost about 20 bucks, wile the braille and print books cost around 7 bucks. They are a non-prophet organization located in Farmington hills Michigan. Their phone number is 1-800-777-8552 and their website is http://seedlings.org/
They have a catalog on their website. Learning braille is like learning print. Print is composed of an arangement (combination) of lines, wile braille is composed of a combination of dots arranged in a certain way.
Hear is a link that shows you the combination of dots used to make each letter http://www.afb.org/braillebug/braille_print.asp
On the brailler (machine that writes in braille) their are 9 keys. Starting from the far left is the enter key (for a new line) dot 3, dot 2, dot 1, the space bar, dot 4, dot 5, dot 6, and the key witch moves the cursur back one place.
I know it seems to much, but it is easy, and you will get the hang of it. Have fun, and good luck.

My girlfriend constantly wears this t-shirt that has written in brail the word "Pervert". It is printed with..
